Please join us on Saturday, Oct. 21st, at 3 pm in the church to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. This devotion will continue on the third Saturday of every month. October 5 is the Feast Day of St. Faustina Kowalska, the Apostle of Mercy. October 22 is the Feast Day of St. John Paul II, the Mercy Pope. St. John Paul II said in his homily on Divine Mercy Sunday in 2000, “I wish solemnly to entrust the world to Divine Mercy. I do so with the burning desire that the message of God’s merciful love, proclaimed here through St. Faustina, may be made known to all the peoples of the earth and fill their hearts with hope. . . . May the binding promise of the Lord Jesus be fulfilled: from here there must go forth the spark which will prepare the world for the Lord’s final coming. This spark needs to be lighted by the grace of God. This fire of mercy needs to be passed on to the world. In the mercy of God the world will find peace and mankind will find happiness.” In his homily the very next day, St. John Paul II said, “We today have been particularly called to proclaim this message of Divine Mercy before the world. We cannot neglect this mission, if God himself has called us to it through the testimony of St. Faustina. God has chosen our own times for this purpose. . . . The hour has come to bring Christ’s message to everyone. The hour has come when the message of Divine Mercy is able to fill hearts with hope and to become the spark of a new civilization of love.” Please join us in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the third Saturday of every month.
