The Sunday after Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. Jesus gave an extraordinary promise of grace to all those who receive Holy Communion in the state of grace on Divine Mercy Sunday, saying that they would "obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment." (Diary, 699). We should prepare by performing works of mercy, spending more time in prayer, doing penances, and giving alms. Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Novena to the Divine Mercy is also good preparation. It is most important to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. God have mercy on us and on the whole world.
