Day of Prayer for Legal Protection of the Unborn - Tuesday January 22, 2019. The Archdiocese of New Orleans' Respect Life Focus for January is The Unborn. Sunday, January 20, 2019, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS), instituted to take a stand for life in light of the Roe v. Wade decision of January 22, 1973. Since that date, over 60 million babies have been killed by abortion in the United States. SOHLS postcards will be available in the Church pews to remind everyone of the need to pray and act for LIFE! Rachel Rosary - Tuesday, January 22, following 6:00 p.m. Mass. The Respect Life Ministry invites all parishioners to attend 6:00 p.m. Mass on Tuesday, January 22, and to remain for a special time of prayer for the Unborn with Adoration, Benediction, and a special Rosary for the intentions of all those affected by abortion. We will have copies of the Rachel Rosary available, and a copy can be found at http://bluehillscollaborative-org.tryradiuswebtools.com/media/1/The-Rachel-Rosary.pdf. We will also post a link on our website. Lastly, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is sponsoring a Novena "9 Days for Life" on January 14-22. We encourage everyone to participate in praying this Novena for Life.
