YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN A PILGRIMAGE TO GERMANY AND ALSACE, COMMEMORATING THE TRICENTENNIAL OF THE SETTLEMENT OF THE GERMAN COAST IN LOUISIANA. In 2022 we will be celebrating the Tricentennial of the Settlement of the German Coast in 1722. The German-Acadian Coast Historical &Genealogical Society is sponsoring a trip to Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium & Luxembourg in May of this year to visit the sites, towns, churches, etc. where many of these early settlers of St. Charles, St. John and St. James parishes had their roots, where they were baptized and married before coming to Louisiana. It will be an interesting and well-planned trip and Fr. Frank Uter who formerly served on the River road and is descended from many of these early settlers has been invited to participate and celebrate Mass when permitted. Persons wishing more information, details, etc. are invited to contact Seitz Travel at their website www.seitztravel.com by telephoning Cynthia Breaux Seitz at 985-991-6178, or contacting Jay Schexnaydre at jayschex@gmail.com.
